Why are prices on spare parts going up?

On and on, our customers keep asking why prices for cell phone spare parts are increasing. Here is our answer.

Lots of ICs and glasses used for displays manufacturing are imported from Hong Kong to China. Recently, the situation with COVID-19 in Hong Kong has become worse; as a result, there are supply interruptions of necessary spare parts.

Also, raw materials for displays are produced in Hubei province, where a surge incidence of coronavirus took place, and harsh weather conditions caused terrible floods. Therefore, the production and supply of raw materials from Hubei is temporarily suspended.

In fact, now factories make displays using their stocks of ICs and glasses. That’s why the prices on displays have increased significantly and will continue to increase.
Suppliers estimate that the current situation will last for at least two more months.
